5월 2일 Last DayTomorrow is Dan's last final. He's a few hours away from being
done with law school. It's crazy! Then the real moving out
begins. Well, first I think there will probably be some drinking,
and yelling . . maybe even fireworks, but then the moving. I'm
excited! 4월 18일 Too MuchI couldn't take the my little pony. It was too much for me.
The problem is that I really would like a pinkish theme or something
light, but the options aren't very satisfying. Beware I may be
switching around a lot over the next few days! 4월 17일 My little pony?I don't think that this theme should be called "Dance Party" I
think it should be called "My Little Pony Rides Again" don't you? Pick me up . . .Feeling sad or blue? Go to flog and check out his entry from
4/13/06. He has some videos on YouTube that are bound to make you
happy. I especially like the dancing and the dog, but I'm biased.
You may prefer the zamboni. 4월 11일 Flying ClocksWow, Dan and I are fast approaching the end of our time in
Eugene. The plan right now is that we will live with my parents
for the summer and then move out when Dan finds a job. He's
taking the bar prep at Lewis and Clark which is nice. My parents
are actually excited about having us move in, so there isn't any
pressure there. We get along with them pretty well. Still,
I'm not totally thrilled to be 27 married and living with my
folks. Oh well! I'm heading up to Manning today to finish clearing out my room today. I worked on it a little during spring break but didn't get through nearly enough. There is nothing like finding your old notebooks and journals from high school and college to slow down a cleaning process. I need to have a bonfire! 2월 16일 New GlassesOk I finally figured out how the camera worked and took a picture of myself! Here are the new glasses. You can see that they make me so happy that rainbows are attracted to me. 2월 11일 Lazy bonesWow!
So I haven't updated for almost a month! It's disgraceful, I
know, and I promise to be better. I have no good excuse. I
have been a little bit busier than normal, but not busy enough to
justify so much neglect. I only have two or three particularly
exciting things to fill y'all in on, but they both make me very
happy. The first is that I got new glasses! I have been wearing contacts for years and years, but this December I decided that I was sick of putting my fingers in my eyes, so I skipped off to the eye doctor and downgraded to goggles. I chose some cute black metal frames. I really like them. I adjusted to them pretty quickly, but every once in a while I see myself in the mirror and I feel like I'm in some kind of silly disguise. I will post a picture today. Item two is that I have a little job. It's temporary, it's part time, and it's easy. It's a phone campaign for an educational conference. I work M-F 8-12, which would have made me cringe in previous years, but is working out really well for me now. I am actually starting to like getting up in the morning. Plus by the time I'm done at noon I feel like I have a whole extra day ahead of me. If I wasn't working I would probably be sleeping in until noon anyway. Item
three is that because of my newfound schedule I am actually able to
diet and excercise a little more. I've been using a calorie
counting website called stayinstep.com
which is working out really well for me. It isn't really a diet
program, so much as a website that just let's you enter in your weight
and the calories you are consuming everyday. I've been doing it
for about three weeks. I've lost 6 lbs. I think it is
working for me because I can see exactly what different foods do for
me. I need that kind of action/result type of thing. I also
bought (prepare to laugh) one of those Gazelle exercise machines (You
can do it!) It is small and folds up, and it was cheap.
I've been using it everyday, and I can definitely see results.
I've also been using exercise videos and things like that, hiking a
lot, etc. 1월 13일 Back in EugeneDan has some pictures of our New York trip up online here.
We are back in Eugene and things are back to normal. The pets are
really happy to be home. Dan is in school again and he is
starting the job hunt too. I am back my normal routine as
well. We are hoping to figure out a way to afford going to
Chicago for spring break. We really hope we can make it! 12월 6일 UpdateWant to know what I've been up to? Well first you should read the FLOG post from Dec. 3. It grows a weird mold . . . no really that's my cat. 11월 15일 My god sir!Today on my daily jaunt out of the house I nearly drove off the
road. Why? Was it my usual encounter with the ubiquitous
eugene bad driver? Was it a wacked out hippie jumping in front of
my car? Was it a suicidal squirrel? No, the culprit was in
fact, to my utter shock and horror, the first christmas song of the
season reaching out to poke me from the other side of the
Thanksgiving. How dare some corporate hack decide to play the
worst version of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" I have ever
heard, a full week before Thanksgiving! How dare they! My
god sir, I will not abide another note! . . . . at least not
until after Thanksgiving, and maybe not even then. 10월 27일 How do I love thee . . .Cat love. How do I know that Leo loves me? Well . . . a. He runs at me and wraps his big paws around my leg (no claws) then runs away. This is called play. b. He sits on my lap when I am at the computer and rests his head on my hand while I type. This cannot be comfortable, but he refuses to be placed anywhere else. c. When I get up he steals my seat. Obviously this means love. d. He tries to share my dinner. e. He tries to share his dinner with me by leaving a dead mouse at the foot of the bed. f. He tries to taste everything I drink before I can drink it. ( I think he is testing for poison. That, or he really appreciates a fresh glass of water.) How do I know that Bonzi loves me? Well . . . She drools in my ear while I sleep. This is either a sign of love or an attempt to keep me away from Dan. 10월 26일 Pirate NamesI am Puffy Shirt Brandy! Who are you? Wait! Update! This is much better. I am Iron Anne Bonney! Who are you? 10월 21일 Dog Blogging10월 20일 !!!!!!!I just found this series of books that I read when I was little that I
loved. It is a series called "The Dark is Rising" by Susan
Cooper. I read this during a week when I had the flu and I have
always remembered it, although I couldn't remember the titles or
author. There was a point in my childhood when reading became my
friend in a way that nothing else could. I don't know why or how,
exactly, I just know that it happened. Since then I have read
many, many things, some that I remember very clearly and others that I
don't. I have always wanted to go back and reread this series,
and I really look forward to it. Just so you know . . .I just started this other blog
that I'm mostly using for silly stuff that I find online. Dan has
a blog, a lot of our UO related friends have blogs, and I had an old
blog that I recently deleted. I feel like AY should be mostly for
real life updates, and things like that. But I occasionally find
things (silly things) that I need to talk about, so I started this
other blog. The reason I am telling you this is because I linked
to our spaces blogs, and if anyone ever reads my new blog(might not
happen), you may find strangers looking at your blogs. If you
don't like this, let me know and I will get rid of the links. I
might end up just deleting the new blog and occasionally blogging about
corn dog jello here (beware!) 10월 11일 The Bounce BookI am a firm believer in preparing myself with an extra book when I know
that the book I am reading is going to send me into withdrawals once I
finish it. I just read the newest Diana Gabaldon book "A Breath
of Snow and Ashes." If you haven't read any Diana Gabaldon
I would highly suggest it. Her books are a blend of historical
fiction, sci-fi, and romance. They are also wonderfully long
(usually 800-1000 pages!} I wisely bought an M.C. Beaton book,
Death of A Dentist when I bought the other book. Beaton writes
pulpy mysteries set in Scotland and the Cotswalds. Her books are
fast paced, and if you read like I do you can make it through one in a
few hours. I am happy to say that the Beaton book was perfect
protection against the withdrawals I know would have followed the
Gabaldon book. |
